The Flanker series is one serious aircraft.It is customizable, and comes in so many variants that are world class, how are we supposed to deal with it as leaders of the free world?

The Flanker is a beautiful aircraft, there is no doubt about it, but with it Russia has just finally caught up with where the USA was with the F-15 30 year ago. Flanker has a great airframe but the engines r not as reliable as the Eagles nor r the electronics even in the same class. The Eagle is a war-proven airframe which the Flanker isn't.
The F-22 will be as much of an improvement over the F-15 as the F-15 was from the F-4. It is a generation ahead of the Flanker. Supercruise, stealth & the advanced RADAR will be unbeatable for the foreseeable future.
As the others say, it doesnt mattter how good the aircraft is if the pilot isnt competant. Russian military pilots fly so few hours (due to budgetary constraints) that they would barely keep their currency in the US, let alone be combat ready..
We deal with it by keeping a professional military well trained & equipped.

my helicopter is capable of things that every Flanker pilot can just dream of.
it largely depends of WHAT you consider to be GOOD /better/ best when reffering to aircraft.
None of Flankers is able to transport two car accident injuries under the 800 meters daytime visibility. - that is what I call GOOD when I speak of aircraft.

It is very hard to argue against the legendary MiG fighter from start to finish the MiG has been the epitome of air superiority. Some of the newer stealth fighters however have extreme first strike capabilities i.e. the US Raptor. I still think however the cost of these is not efficient at nearly $10 million per aircraft. Today the first strike is more important than the dogfighter fighting without engaging is the new method. The MiG is finally starting to lose ground.

The Su-27 is an old aircraft, designed to be comparable to the F-14 and F-16, which are also obsolete.
The Mig-35 is a new state-of-the art aircraft, though not stealthy like the F-22 Raptor, is comparable in agility.
In the end, the most important component of an aircraft is its pilot. Put a good pilot in an Su-27 and put him up against an average pilot in an F-22, and it is a fair fight.

Huh......the United States F-15 easily handled them during them during the Gulf War, not to mention we have the F-22 & soon F-35. Also the Israeli Air Forces used them & there have only been 1 or 2 actually lost in combat, but never by the US. The United States has the most advanced aircraft in the world, & not to mention the F-35 comes in 3 variants for various branches. And it doesnt matter when the flanker pilots r usually dead even before they realized they were getting shot at by American Pilots.

We shoot it down with F-22, F-35, F-18, F-15, F-16 or any of a selection of long range surface-to-air missiles or air-to-air missiles. Its old technology.
